wildfowler.250
I'm currently at uni down in glasgow and a last couple of nights there has been a fox screeching outside my window,(wouldn't get away with that back home!). I was just wondering why it would be calling so much? I thought they breed around December so is it a territorial thing? What a racket it makes. ps he's just started up again, he's calling like evey 5-10 Seconds!

wildfowler.250
It's kind of like a bark..if that makes sense. It does it every few seconds for minutes. At this rate I'm going to throw something out the window at it

Hornet 6
Same here the last few nights, last night it was really loud, and close, outside the bedroom window was mum screeching at 2 cubs fighting with a cat, I'm surprised mum never waded in as the cubs were getting the worst of it, the cat is now sunning it's self on the bonnet of a car looking non the worse for it all. al4x
they do have their uses then I've had similar noises when shooting cubs on recently harvested stubble and the mum trying to get the rest back Edited May 10, 2013 by al4x

Screeching or screams are often calls to another fox or mate, they can also do this when looking for a mate but late in the year for that. Most likley a vixen, but in Glasgow hearing screaming at night may be Neil Lennon getting his baws battered and deep fried, unless you live near the airport it could be one of the Glasgow bombers, Singed Majeep, think that's what he was called.
