spinach
All the best to you and your wife. As far as the £300 for the permission sounds like you've got a problem. I'd write a few letters to the game keeper and cc to landowner with copies of your permission. Nothing will happen can't see you getting cash back . Was it a year or longer. Small claims but if the toe rag doesn't have any money! You may be throwing good after bad. Do I trust you over the other guy yeah, because you have nothing to gain from moaning on here. Alex C
Surely if you are thinking of making a claim it would be from the land owner / estate as the underkeeper is in his employment ? Suing the underkeeper who is probably pot less would be a waste of time imo. I summons to the landowner would probably result in a bit more action
secretagentmole
All of those who says the toerag has no money, if you get a small claims judgement, if there is no payments made you can send in the bailiffs. If you get ones that can seize firearms as well, it could get very unfortunate for the keeper if his guns are seized! four-wheel-drive
I would go and politely speak with the landowner and explain the situation. I am sure that they will come up with a solution. I can't imagine they will look too kindly on the situation, as I would doubt they would even be aware of this £300 sum that has changed hands, and by rights should be paid to them. My thoughts exactly if the land owner has any pride he would sack this man as if word gets around that he condones this type of behaviour it would reflect badly on to him that said just having money and land dose not make you a good person.
