Highlandladdie
Just a quickie, about to put my cocker to bed and noticed her face is a touch swollen. A bit worry some as all you hear about adder bites etc. we were out for a walk today got back in about 3. Really just noticed the swelling in the last hour. Don't know if she has just banged it or if it is something more sinister. She appears to be breathing fine and her gums are nice and pink. She doesn't appear bothered by it at all. Any ideas? chrispti
Bee sting? My dogs face went up like a balloon after a sting....
sitsinhedges
Band some anti histamines down it just in case. I had a lurchers head go like a bull dogs once and that is what the vet advised over the phone. They assumed it was some kind of bite or sting it had an allergic reaction to. Any hay fever tablets in the house?
Highlandladdie
Could be chrispti. There were a few wasps about today. I don't think it's anything from our walk as that was nearly 6 hours ago. Hmm......... Nothing like that in the house, I think we shall have to wait it out and see what she's like in the morning
WGD
What did you have for dinner? One of mine's head blew up like a balloon for 24 hours after she snaffled a tiny piece of chilli when I was chopping them.

Highlandladdie
Morning all, poor Rhue looks more like a bull terrier today than a cocker. A trip to the vets for some anti histamine I think. I don't think she has eaten anything as exotic as a chilli, we had an omelette and chips last night! As for nettles, we go from the doge of the forestry onto the hill, nothing has grown here yet. The trees have only just started to bud. Thanks for the replies everyone will let you know how she gets on Same with my GSH was stung by a bee , his head was like a football in no time , rushed him to the vet had an injection , was OK by next morning. reassuring, thanks. Hopefully something similar

Highlandladdie
Hi all, Thanks for the replies. It seems likely that it was a sting. The Vet gave her a jab with some anti somethingorother, not antihistamine as apparently it's not that effective in dogs. Today she is back to the Rhue we know and love! Ready to get into some more mischief! Laddie
