beatingisbest
In my local shopping centre (one of the biggest in europe) they always have a huge christmas tree up and decorations all over the place, this year one hasnt showed up. We asked why not, it turns out that people form ethnic minorities and people from other cultures found it offensive and they are not allowed to put a tree up anymore. I think that this is ridiculous, it seems that we can do next to nothing anymore because of the fear it may upset someone What do all you guys think about this sort of thing? Cranfield
We all think its terrible and an end to life as we know it. In my local town, they are erecting a great big Christmas tree , with lights and mock parcels hanging on it. You are welcome to come and see it if you like. There will also be Carol Singers on certain nights and the Salvation Army Band will be playing.

il cacciatore
Em... The Christmas tree in itself isn't a religious symbol.
pin
The mid-winter pagan tree festival we mistakenly associate with Christmas has nothing to do with the Christian faith. Yet more quango-inspired quasi political attempted do-gooding from the whale-song-at-dinner-parties Guardian reader brigade. Boils my blood
