bicykillgaz
Hi gents Do you know if it possibly to have coating on the body of a scope repaired or replaced? Buying a 7x50 but its got cosmetic issues, glass is mint apparently so would love to get it tarted up as long as we're not talking daft money. jgguinness
Don't know mate but my Meopta is exactly the same, paint is flaking off. I was thinking of either respraying it myself or getting my father in law (who is a panel beater/sprayer) to do it for me. Just thinking, can you get a scope sock?? Jonathan PS just found this, eBay no 230916662291 Edited May 21, 2013 by jgguinness
bicykillgaz
Hi Jonathan, Cheers for that but a sock is only hiding an issue for me, I didn't know if the manufacturer could do it. Cheers mate

coyotemaster
The fact that at least 2 members have issues with finish tells me it could be known to the manufacturer. Before you do anything I would contact Meopta and preferably both of you do it, referring one to the other, and ask for a consideration on the failing finish. This way they understand it is not just a fluke and may be motivated to keep their customers happy.

bicykillgaz
Good idea Timothy, I've also owned a 6x42 meopta which had same issue and my local had one one in on a trade in rifle same again. It's definitely a general issue with there steel bodied scopes, shame though as glass wise there as good as any top end scope I've looked through.
