sandspider
Hi allI'm after some track day location recommendations please - ideally in the South East or South West. It's for my dad's Jaguar XK120, so I'm after a track that is fun but where the old chap won't damage himself or the car! It's a birthday idea, so a track where you can turn up with your own car, have a few laps with an instructor, then be unleashed on your own (or with a passenger - me!) would be ideal. Can anyone recommend a good track that offers this? Many thanks.Giles

TIGHTCHOKE
Always enjoyed burning round Brands Hatch in the past!
sandspider
Cheers chaps. Brands Hatch would be pretty convenient, will look into it.
Dunkield
Castle Combe can't be far from you looking at your location? Never done one there but they do seem to offer them: http://www.castlecombecircuit.co.uk/trackdays/
sandspider
Castle Combe is quite close to me (I raced go karts there once) but my dad is in Kent... Might be able to sort a trip over this way though. Cheers.
Dunkield
Lydden Hill then is another one? I sprinted there years ago, it might be a bit tight for what you want.
sandspider
I thought Lydden Hill would be too narrow (dad wants to get the back wheels out more!), but it might actually be worth a look. They don't seem to do beginner specific track days though... What did you sprint there? Bikes?
Dunkield
Lotus 7. I used to do the ACSMC events, a mix of sprints and hillclimbs in the South So I have driven Lydden Hill, Goodwood, Mallory Park, Gurston Down and a load of other places I can't remember
sandspider
Nice car. I'd like one, or perhaps an Ariel Atom...
walt1980
Snetterton a good, good facilities, wide track, a few good drifting corners, easy access to A11. Done loads of laps round that place, always good. Javelin Motorsport do them or go to msv
