Nobel Glasgow shotgun powder 82

Recommended Posts

It can be used for 12gauge, 16gauge and 20gauge, fibre or plastic. Years ago it was matched to the Eley Surefire Cap and primer.

In the 1970s, recipes were available for Plaswad with CCI and Winchester primers.

State your gauge, wad type and payload on here and I am sure the likes of Sitsinedges, Cook, Roughshooter, me, et al, will furnish you with safe info.

WARNING: Make sure it IS Nobel 82! Dark grey DISC with a bright yellow tracer disc.

Cheers floating chamber its in a yellow tin with a white disc with 82 written in yellow on the front i do have a pic of the tin on my mobile but cant upload it. There is also 500+ CCI 109 primers and some winchester 209 and eley surefire cap and primers and 100s of old eley cases.

The load would be for 12 gauge 28g + i have some 1/2" fiber wads and loads of winchester mk III 1-1/8 oz black wads if any of these could be used with the powder that would be great

The yellow tin 82 is the last of it it came in a bigger grey tin with a label before that and in fact most of the time it was in production, for a 28gram load it is a little slow burning 80 or 60 would be better powder for that weight.

There is a fair few loads in a book by garard i have it some place if you want that data i can send you it if you want.

From memory most loads around the 1 1/16th to 1 1/8th oz area were about 22-25 grains dependant on wad type. I used a 1 3/4 oz lead load with that 82 it was a good load. I still have about 3/4s of a big grey tin of it left.

It is also a good powder for 8 and 10 bore fibre loads!

Hi I think you will find that the Winchester mk111 wads are actually Plaswad mk111 wads. Can find no reference to Winchester producing or using black as a colour for wads produced by them. Having used Winchester 12 gauge wads from 24 gram to 39 gram lead loads over the years.
