fieldwanderer
.22rf's the ideal tool for a golf course IMHO, usually the rabbits are very tame too so it's a very enjoyable way to spend an evening. I must admit, I've yet to cook rabbit in such a way that I enjoy eating it but there's been a few posted lately that looked very tempting. May I ask what you've put on yours? flynny
FW I put bay leaf, a clove, chili flakes and some season all in the tin foil with a bit of butter and water, salt and pepper ( WHATEVER IS IN THE SPICE RACK HA HA) The BBQ had put out most of its heat, so I just plonked it on and left it for bout an hour and the meat was lovely and moist, PS the rabbitts on my course are far from tame mate, you can get within 30-50 yards though stalking them, I do understand whwt you mean though, ATB Flynny. Frenchieboy
That looks really tasty mate - More than good enough to eat! I've yet to try them on the BBQ but the younger smaller ones (And there's loads of them about on my permissions at the moment) go great in portions in the Wok with some chopped garlic/red onion, mixed herbs and a pinch of crushed chilli and then served with a nice mixed salad and a few new potatoes or crusty bread. p.s. I have to agree, the .22lr with a reasonable sound moderator takes some beating as a "bunny bashing gun"! Me too mate , at this time of year im on there at 4-30 am I can have a couple of hours then before the early golfers arrive at about 6.30-7AM, My word who gets up that early to do a sport that they enjoy ha ha Its better with the early nights in winter plenty of lamping time then the course isnt flood lit ATB Flynny
hawkeye
Scaffy and me went on the course that i'm a member off on sunday morning we met there at 3-45am and shot till 6am when the green staff turn up for work.. I have full use of the golf buggies and as they are electric they are very quiet we ended up with 43 so green chairman was happy.. I have noticed over the years i have shot this course if you drive from tee to green as if you were playing golf the rabbits don't bother but if you drive from green to tee they are away like a scalded cat
