FOXHUNTER1
On my local perm the farmer has cut a few fields so I decided to lay up and see if any foxes showed...this field usually produces each year so was quietly confident. I got set up at 8.30 pm and 1st noticed a reddish shape at the bottom of the field which turned out to be a roe doe... Then at 9.45 pm I spotted a magpie mobbing a fox which was on the run and quickly disappeared into some gorse. I tried calling but to no avail 10 pm a whole tribe of magpies were going ballistic but no sign of the fox , obviously hidden from my view............. 10.15 and by now I had been lying in the field for nearly 2 hours and had a pain in my shoulder so I moved position to get comfortable. **** law this is when a fox appeared and all I could do was freeze as it was looking in my direction ....................then as it started trotting I quickly got settled behind the rifle .....a lip squeak stopped it in its tracks and a dog fox was grassed.
