Dunkield
It's same for everyone, they just have remember to not overcook it. Easy to say sat here, I know
Raja Clavata
The hard part is avoiding hearing the result before 7pm. Whoops, sorry about that! Regarding the descents - I did feel for that poor chap that went down twice yesterday (on the same side) - ouch :-(
Penelope
Peraud, yeah, fractured his right collar bone on the warm up/trial lap and landed on the same side when he crashed for the second time. Tyler Hamilton who rode for US Postal (Lance Armstrong's team) ground his back teeth to stumps through the pain after riding the tour with a fractured collar bone a few years ago. His book is a good read for the inside track on the doping that went on. Whoops, sorry about that! four-wheel-drive
I thought he had hit the buffers today if it was not for Richi Port looking after him I hate to think what would have happened lack of food/energy bars and drink but they seem to think that he will be ok for tomorrow . Penelope
His main rival, Alberto Contador had a worse day than Froome, and Fromme put time into him. I don't think his losses would have been that great in the scheme of things. Too much time for the likes of Quintana to make up unless Froome has bike trouble of a bad crash. Been nearly a year now. I can't bear the thought of another left sided shoudler injury (nearly seperated the same one a few years back). I wince at every crash I see but at least these guys get paid for it...
Dunkield
News from the front is it's as hot as hell here today, possibly hotter tomorrow. Definitely more English arriving by the day. Had a wander along The Champs-Elysee earlier and it is manic, I hope I don't regret not buying grandstand tickets. "Build it and they will come" in their millions by the looks of it. I think this should work... http://db.tt/idr1HFre http://db.tt/l1TVwxuD Let's hope Froome Dog and co can defend today and Cav has something left in the tank for tomorrow

Dunkield
Yes well done that man, he was being congratulated in the peleton and got a hero's welcome from everyone in Paris. Pity Cav lost out but you cant win them all. The atmosphere was amazing I am glad we went, still can't believe the size of the circus and the riders speed I have some pictures but even in good light they look blurred. four-wheel-drive
As the saying goes the boy did good he looks to be a really nice guy and I did like what he said when he got the prize and made his speech ( this time it is for keeps ) alluding to the people who have been found to have been doping and has to give it back. One thing that has been going through my mind is where dose all of this leave Wiggo I do not think he liked Froome tacking the limelight from him a bit of sower grapes there I think. Penelope
IMO the sour grapes came some time ago, like when David Brailsford said Froomey was going to be team leader, and I also think the knee injury?? during the Giro d' Italia that kept Wiggo out of the Tour came rather conveniently. kdubya
managed to get over to Paris enjoyed the trip but train , train., boat, train, train to get there nah never again bit the bullet and got the eurostar back today 8.13 (our time) train into st pancras for 10.39 onto the 11.21 Kings X to Sunderland, and home by 1425 cant be bad at all, apart from euro robbers charging me 245 euro,s for the single trip to London, but still well worth the trip and the expense even got a decent view good manners not needed I'm afraid. There are few things I would do differently if I went again, as I said further up I would look at grandstand seats just to have a 'base' We had quite a good spot, sitting and in the shade which were two priorities. We were in the Tuileries so got to see them each lap but missed (if that is right word) the caravans etc..
four-wheel-drive
I should imagine that it is a bit like going to see F1 not that I have been to see ether we do not really take in just how fast they are going especially up hill the only problem with going to look at a stage is you travel several hundred miles then get a place to watch them wait for ages for them to come and in a flash they are gone the last stage in Paris must have been good as you get to see them 10 times or more. Dunkield
Yes I got talking to an English bloke and his wife, they had followed the entire event (minus Corsica) camping out, and with their dog He said the agro to get up d'huez just to see them go by once is insane, but in the end the race just becomes one small part of it. Norwegian corner got a few mentions on the TV, this is in real life, these boys were on it - and I mean on it - from early morning, when we left the Gendarme were moving in en masse as they must have felt it was about to go off.
