Big Marty
Took the Betensoli 20 Bore out today,( I know it's spelt wrong ) every time filled the Gun it would only fire top barrel. The bottom barrel was denting the shell cap but not firing. What would that be, could it be firing pin away and if yes is it costly to repair ? TFN. Marty.... OvEr_KiLL
sounds like it needs a new firing pin to me, take it to your local gunsmith, i dont know how much it would cost, firing pin+labour i expect
Underdog
How old is it? Sometimes the bottom barrel firing pin gets piened by the hammer and swells (as it's used the most) it so much that it's travel is limited in the action, take the stock off and have a look. If the pin is burred at the rear remove it and grind or turn the burr off. With the stock off you will be able to press both pins and compare their protrusion out of the breech face! U. HDAV
Pin possibly worn, cheap to replace could be more serious but if under warranty worth getting checked.
subsonicnat
might be just the fact its TOO Flat, bit more of a point on, it will dent deeper, simple, but if unsure of how to do it, DO NOT make it unsafe if you have not got any engineering history: Sorry:
Underdog
Do not sharpen the point of the pin....this can lead to pierced caps/primers.....it also increases the chance of missing the primers anvil. If anything a wider pin is better! U.
Big Marty
Not to worry I won't touch it. Gun Smith got it this morning, nearly sure it's the pin.

Lord Geordie
I have done a few of these, some as early as 3 month old! It was burr on the pins and bits of swarf in the pin ports. Cleaned up and reassembled they were fine! Small jobs like pins, springs, lock etc are easy enough. Would love to learn how to.set up ejector timing and re cut sears etc

Lord Geordie
Get an old gun from the an auction: Then be prepared for a lot of re-welding and tickling with a file tell me about it! I had a Rizzini E years ago and had to strip it down! Did the pins, and top lever had worn out on the bottom can with the lock. Had to weld it up, harden it, file it to fit and that took about 4 hours :o Gun was spot on after that though. I love working with guns and only wish I had taken a engineering career path as a youngster. I do ok for mkst of my own needs but sold my lathe a long while back and now.wish I still had it
