wymberley
Guys, Can anyone tell me at what point the vehicle went 6 speed? Was it with the introduction of the 2.0 litre diesel engine? Many thanks.
shaun4860
I think the diesel has always been a 6 speed, dont know about the early petrol ones though? my first was a 2003 2.2 diesel and a 6 speed
Gordon R
Early petrol was 5 speed. Diesel has always been a 6 speeder - according to Honest John.
wymberley
Thanks, Guys, sorted. I had two early petrol ones but am now looking at a later diesel version and couldn't pin it down. The one I'm looking hard at, the advert doesn't specify which it is.

keg
Wife had a 54 plate from new, all fine, was a 6 speed manual, high 30s low 40s mpg. Early ones had a reputation for blowing turbos, not sure about now.

Sean Richo
I believe that the new shape x trails are not as reliable as the old shape ones. This is due to the fact that Renault now own 50% of Nissann. The new x trails have a lot of Renault parts fitted but everything is still badged up as nissan this has lowered the reliability of these vehicles. They look lovely tho just do some research before you buy.
Sean Richo
In fact if I remember correctly Renault make every Diesel engine for every Nissann sold in the European car market this is what would put me off new x trail have a look at the Nissan and Renault alliance on wiki it tells you there.
