Tenerfield off ebay (ok in the winter I have found, but a bit harsh for cubs)

Home made copy of a Tenerfield ( not so harsh)

The reed from a dog squeaky toy on a lanyard (good for cubs)

A hand mirror with the handle cut off and a piece of water pipe insulation (as it does not break down like polystyrene)

Back of the hand

Using the lamp instead of my hand as it echo’s a bit more…

Best uk fox call and my hand

Me too but I have recently bought a widgeon call - £3.20 very realisting but you have to learn how to modulate the sound - 1 large cub with this already. Now the crops have come off for wholecrop sileage, it will be back to the hand.

I think the mouth call i have greatest success with is the WAM call, it has a better natural sound than the widgeon, perfect for the less windy days as its quite a quiet call. But on windless summers evenings its a killer. You can cup a hand over your mouth while calling to vary the sound..... I do love the sound of the Tenterfield call , you can get a very raspy sound, but takes a lot of practice. very good for the winter and can be blown hard for lots of volume.
