fl206
Hi, I'll be moving home in a month or two and was wondering if people could recommend (a) clay ground(s) in the vicinity? The nearest seem to be out towards Durham or York.

Small local clubs:- Stokesly Great Smeaton Urlay Nook, near Yarm Oaklodge my local club and Spennymoor have shooting on Wednesday nights all year, floodlit during darker months. Shout up on here or drop some PMs when your going and if you want company, some of us here would meet up for a shoot. Figgy

Northern Gunner
Hi fl206, Marne Clay Shoot at Catterick shoot every other Sunday from 1000hrs till 1400hrs and every Wednesday afternoon from 1330hrs till dusk. Normally 50 or 60 Bird sporting over at least 8 stands as well as compact or ABT. Cheapest in the area at £16 per 100 for members and £20 for non members. Also hold regular charity shoots with good cash prizes on offer. Sporting lay out changes for every shoot so plenty of variety and a reputation for putting on something for all degrees of expertise to challenge novices and top shots alike. Checkout the website www.marneclayshoot.co.uk for info and fixture list. We shoot on alterative weekends from JC Marsh so we don't clash at all and both shoots then benefit. You will be made very welcome.
fl206
Hi, Sorry to resurrect a thread but I'll try and head to Thimbleby this coming Wednesday. If there are any others out on day release, it would nice to say hello. I'll be the one trying to shoot skeet.
figgy
You nearly had me there till you mentioned Skeeeeeet. Another club over boro way is just outside Skelton, can't remember the name. Figgy
fl206
Haha, thanks for the vote of confidence! What's wrong with skeet? I quite like repetitive/boring! I'm not quite good enough for sporting yet.
figgy
Don't have to be good to enjoy sporting. Thimbleby have a great topography for good sporting layout. Have a decent compact layout with the Skeet stands. Skeet is great to get your swing going but to repetitive for me. Oak lodge shooting ground in the morning at Hartlepool if you fancy a go at Dtl,compact sporting or English sporting your welcome to to come along and have a go at a nice friendly club that will be laying on registered sporting shoots in the not to distant future. Ill even show you how I miss loads of the little blighters. You might even meet area more off here.like a day at the zoo Figgy Edited October 12, 2013 by figgy
