Fishnshoot
Hello all. Just wanted a bit of advice regarding the above topic. I've recently bought my first shotgun, mainly for pigeons, crows and clays but I also like the idea of trying some wildfowling. I've looked on the web for info regarding the law and from what I can see if you don't stay in the Hebrides your allowed to shoot from the beach with out any written permission..... Is this correct? Also I'd imagine that the best way to learn is to tag along on a shoot, can anyone help with the law question and what the best way is to start off. Kind regards... Ray. nic
if you go onto the basc website, they have advice on the law in scotland and england/wales ... any problem finding it, look in the permits book
henry d
No that isn`t right, there are bye-laws in a few areas and many areas you will not find any wildfowl, because you can only shoot wildfowl and waders from on or below the HWMOST (iirc). Would also be helpful to know where you live.

Fishnshoot
So were you planning on just plonking yourself down at the side of the Clyde? Get in touch with these guys for good information http://www.esawc.co.uk/ Down the Clyde?.... Really??. No I have land near to loch fyne and wondered if It was truly accepatable and legal to "as said in the basc site" shoot from between the tide marks without permission as its classed as public access through the crown..... Or words to the like. But I thought I'd ask as it didn't seem to make sence. Glad I did now...Thanks for the link. Does anyone know of any clubs in the west?
