Close cubs...

Olly is back from traveling so we went to the same block I shot 4 from on Friday. The peas have been cut but the rape stubble ripped up…

The first late cub came so fast then disappeared in a line of reeds, I knew what was going to happen so with Olly in tow I shouldered the gun and legged it back a good 50 yards, a set of eyes showed in the reeds and then a head popped up over the shallow ditch. Head shooting is not my preferred shot but it was safe and still so that was number one (no pic as no head)

The second early cub came out behind us out around 70 yards, It started to move off but Olly has learnt well…Hey and bang sealed his fate.

Number 3 was head down eating something he had found out around 150 yards, a very weighty dog fox made me change arms a couple of times back over the cultivated ground….
