ollie
Is that pressing the on off all the way so it clicks, or just half way, and by the sounds you are not twisting the neck??? Yes do you press it lightly until it clicks? Do you twist the neck clockwise or anti-clockwise?
steve_b_wales
Yes do you press it lightly until it clicks? Do you twist the neck clockwise or anti-clockwise? No need to twist the neck. And you press very lightly to get the power mode you need, then press until it clicks.

mick miller
As I understand it the red led is single mode only. Maybe some early ones were three mode but mine is definitely a single mode only.
sundaybain
This would be a lot easier if Taclight named the pills lIke Dereelight does SM-SINGLE MODE, MM=MULTI MODE

Maybe some early ones were three mode but mine is definitely a single mode only. My NiteSearcher was purchased directly from America, via a friend of mine, and was a hell of a lot cheaper too. I also purchased a spare neck, IR led, extension tube and pressure switch. My NS came with a red led, which works at three different power settings. mick miller
There you go then. The ones from Taclight I had (for 30 quid) were exactly the same as the ones i bought off ebay for a fiver. Single mode and complete with off centre led badly mounted. Same driver, same star. I have since had overdriven red, amber and green leds made by a chap in the states that match the nm performance in a 501b with Ahorton lens so I just keep the IR pill in my x searcher and use my handy pocket throwers to do all my lamping. You can fit these into the nm torches, you just need to take the pill out of the aluminium surround by the way.

I did a similar thing, the price difference was ridiculous, about half the price including the postage!
