Chr15j
Hi all, About to get a new (to me) HMR and I have the following choice 1) 5 yr old (allegedly 200 shots fired) cz 452 with boyds thumbhole stock and sak mod with 50 rounds of ammo for £320 collected 2) 6 month old (allegedly 50 rounds fired) cz 455 thumbhole stock, bipod, 400 rounds for £400 (inc their rfd transfer) plus 25 rfd cost at my end. Which would you go for and why. Money is not unlimited so is a factor! Thanks Chris
rwade545
Hi, well 400 rounds so 8 boxes at £10 ( probably the cheapest you will get a box for) is £80, so both will cost you the same in the end, ( excluding the RFD costs) I have the 455, it come with a heavy varmit barrel that is 16 inches. One you add a moderator the length starts to add up so a short barrel is an advamtage if using it from a car. No problem with accuracy, groups under an inch at 100m off a bipod. really happy with mine. only otherthing is that if you buy local and anything goes wrong it will be easier for them to sort it then someone you have had to have the gun RFD from. Both will shoot great. For £20 it is worth doing a trigger spring modification. Made a world of difference to mine. good luck.
Chr15j
The collected gun is still a once only drive (not local)
team tractor
I've owned my hmr 3 months and only used 250 rounds plus I use it a lot I think . I used to think the amount of rounds people use was a lie but you don't really use that many . My semi auto lr has shot more .

dadioles
Don't be persuaded in your choice of gun by the accessories. They just muddle the issue. For example, if it comes with a bipod - is it a "good" bipod such as Harris or just a bit of junk to make the package look good? Regarding ammunition, is this the "ideal" ammunition that best suits your gun or again, something cheap thrown in to look good? You are buying a gun, all the other bits are window dressing (but that is not to say that they could be worth having though).
turbo33
I've just sold my 455 22lr and will be getting the 452. Did the same with my 455 hmr a few months ago for a 452. Both the 455 were stupidly inaccurate. The 452 is an absolute pinholer, Although others have good things to say about the 455, it wasn't for me. As dead as a plank, heavy to lug around and the accuracy of a shotgun. VAriation in and hopefully in the next day or two, I will have the
