Well done mate. 13 years ago I said goodbye to my wife and kids, because they didn't think I would last the night. Puts everything in perspective. Here's to the next 30 years for both of us. PTL :good:

Best of luck for the future. Hope you don't mind me asking what happened.

Thanks Mark

Thanks lads what happened ? oh ! God its a long story & much to long to post here but it short the reason I posted this thread was because when I watched the BBC news yesterday morning I heard about a young British lass who had just arrived in New York & was hit by a taxi & the poor girl had to have her leg amputated & I really felt for here because I knew what it was she was going through & then I realized it was 30 years ago to the day that I lost my left leg below the knee .

In short I was on my way home from flight training on my lovely Norton Commando when a woman failed to give way & pulled onto the highway & hit me ! I have no memory of that event I just woke up some days later at night alone & in a lot of pain & wondered where I was & why most of the pain was in my leg , so I used all my strength just to lift my head off the pillow to look at my leg only to see a bandaged stump with a drain tube coming out of it & I passed out again .

The rest I suppose is history & a hell of a lot more happened before & since that day & the last near miss was a few years ago on my way up up the M6 when I met some head case on a harry carry mission heading south the wrong way & I just missed him ! .

Anyway life is great & I have been to lots of places & done lots of things & plan to do much more so I just keep going on & its great to be here even if it just to p off enemies :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: !! .

So lets just pause for a moment & think of that poor young British lass in New York & what she must be going through right this very moment . :sad1: Pole Star
