theres your problem................REMOVE HIS TOYS .........leave the retreiving for a couple of days, then start again.....only train him for 5 or so mins, and ALWAYS end the session on a high note.............

Have a look/search for other similar threads, think there is 1 pinned, teaching a hold, and there is 2 or 3 recent ones all pretty similar that will probably have a fair bit of decent advice.

I personally wouldn't advise using treats for retrieve training, if done wrong can encourage ur dog to spit the dummy more. Just don't be in a hurry to take it out off dogs mouth and praise clap dog while ummy still in it's mouth.

I also would not be letting it pick or work on game hot or cold until it's retriving the dummy to hand well 100% of the time

For almost all problems far better if u can get someone decent u know to give u a hand and some advice, far easier when u can see the dog

Don't give him treats when he brings a retrieve as he will start spitting out before giving to hand in order to get his treats quicker.

Bit of praise when done right and encouragement.

Your in a good place on here, there's a wealth of knowledge from lots of experienced folk.
