Thwarted with a capital 'T'.

I went along this afternoon to shoot the scuffed up barley stubble on which I had seen a good few birds last weekend.

The first sign of trouble was when I could see a cloud of dust from the road even before I got to the field. Sure enough an enormous tractor, green this time, was rolling the field. I spoke to the driver who told me that this field, and the two adjacent ones, had been drilled with rape this morning, they would all be rolled this afternoon, followed by an application of a pre emergent spray. The operations would therefore last all day and my plans were thwarted.

I then proceeded to drive about the countryside for another hour and a half but in that time I failed to see any sort of decent line anywhere so I drove home to be confronted by a long list of domestic duties which I must get on with straight away rather than malingering on PW.

Malingering on P.W!

It matters not at what hour you return home, those domestic duties will wait a life time for you if need be! :good:

They are like a vicious circle!

Nice to see the good woman lets you wear the trousers in the house when it suits her!

Fenboy, I have no crown as you well know, just an over-sized flat cap which you make fun of on a regular basis. I take your humour in the way in which it is intended.

No I couldn't find any pigeons yesterday and today looks to be more of the same. It is already very hot here and that may influence feding habits, mine as well as the pigeons.

I opened the curtains at 7am this morning and saw about 100 pigeons on the barley stubble, some right under the window, (started to get the shakes) but after going out yesterday afternoon decided to catch up on some of the jobs I've been neglecting, rather than incur the wrath of the management of the household.

With a bit of luck and some hard work I might be able to earn a pass out for Friday.

I hate housework JDog You make the beds, you wash the dishes and six months later you have to start all over again...I can't help being lazy......It walks in the family.

I would love a job as a Bin Man....Fenny said they only work one day a week round our way and get paid loads

Fenboy once said to me "Ghost, could you describe yourself in three words for me?"......"Lazy" is all I could think of......about sums me up why use three when one will do. :whistling:
