lakeside1000
I managed to aquire two nice permissions this year and shoot regularly on them, yesterday I was going to set up in a quiet corner, on a boundary line under a good flight line, I drove across the fields to get there but to my annoyance, just over the hedge, two men were planting cabbages, I stopped to have a look , and one of the men came over , he asked what I was doing driving around his neighbours land, so I explained how I was tasked with clearing all virmin including pigeons from the farm, He asked if I had any spare time to shoot some pigeons on his newly planted cabbage field, I of course said yes, only too happy to oblige, so now I am in charge of keeping the little blighters off his newly planted field, which just happens to be surrounded by large trees and lies under two quite busy flight lines, Only down side is he wants me there at first light , as often as I can manage, so it looks like the alarm clock is going to come in useful, hasn't been used since I retired, hope the neighbours dont mind me blasting away at 6am, Watch this space. Whitebridges
Good for you. Down to you now to make sure farmer isn't left with just match sticks in the ground! The birds can really hit cabbage hard in the right conditions. Usually when there is a sustained period of very cold weather and not a lot of other stuff to eat. I've had some really good shooting over cabbage. Good luck with it.
lakeside1000
Chears fella's, I had it in mind to try the hush out, its a small area and might be ideal if I can get them in close enough, it just seems to lack the knock down power of the bigger bores, but its worth a try.
