kyska
An interesting observation. That is a lot of hares in one place. I have the same, I've often thought someone would call BS if I said so. During bailing, we drove through a very well lit field, 2 bailers, handlers and trailers they were running amock, every field up to 20 hare. I'll get some video footage, only for people to believe, I reckon If I concentrated on shooting hare on one night I'd do 100 plus, easy, and more for days and days after. filzee
We have exactly the same there are usually at least ten in the small fields and 20-30 in the larger fields. We also often see fox's sat out in fields with rabbit hopping around them quite happily. Don't know if the rabbits don't know the fox is there or they just don't seem to care. Last week on a 5 acre field shot 1 fox and 45 rabbits off it.
cwmmawr
When Ive been out with be beagle packs its common for a hare to sit tight even when the pack is yards away seen it many times
kent
You can walk fairly close to a hare before they bolt at your feet, a fox has no-chance few running dogs can tag a hare single handed after a short course, "one field" daylight dogs were more often talked about than seen in the legal best of five days. On the other hand a fit Lab can catch up to a fox after giving it 30 yards law (ask me how I know that )
Bewsher500
i see this with rabbits on golf courses sitting right out in the open and the fox is walking no more than 15 yds away takes a swift fox to catch a rabbit or hare at full tilt, lets face it..long dogs have enough trouble and they are a hell of a lot quicker than foxes!!
