kyska
Just watched this, did you not notice the mortally wounded animal at 4.13?
ThePestControllers
that was a dead rabbit trust me it died before i got to it only seconds after i shot it. i know when i saw that on video it looked like it was only wounded and writhing about in agony for ages but like i say it was dead not very long after because it was shot through the head. but you always get the odd one that reacts odd and looks like you have only clipped it until you go to pick them up and see its head mashed. its strange when that happens and to this day i don't know why. i have shot rabbits in the head with a 36ftlb air rifle and they jump about 5-6 foot to one side but you get there and they are stone dead. its not like shooting a deer through the chest and it running 4 or 500 yards is it. cheers Daz
kyska
It was a spine shot, it was dragging itself about. It was shot, you moved to another rabbit and it was scooting about.
ThePestControllers
no kyska your mistaken it looks like it on video but i can assure you it was not spine shot because our game dealers don't accept spine shot or body shot animals so i know your wrong because for one i picked it up and inspected it myself and second if it was spine shot the dealer would of rejected it because he picks every individual up and checks them so i am sorry mate but on this occasion you are wrong. i now exactly which rabbit you were talking about as soon as you posted your comment and yes it was scooting about but then dropped stone dead seconds later before i even got to it 40 yards away so get your facts right before you start spouting off. if you dont like watching animals getting killed then i suggest you dont watch any of my videos especially my ratting videos they will really upset you because not every animal drops stone dead on the spot and as i presume you are a hunting person you should know that. ThePestControllers
Cheers Mate i was supposed to go again last week but i couldn't get and its just as well because my mate Mick went through a bridge and fell down a 15 foot drop and wrote the car off. he was ok thank god but there was 150 rabbits scattered all over the place. he still managed to get them to the game dealer so they were not wasted. evo
It was a spine shot, it was dragging itself about. It was shot, you moved to another rabbit and it was scooting about. just watched the video myself and have to agree with Kyska, that rabbit was defo shot in the spine(or so it certainly looked) it was perfect in the head and was dragging its back legs around,,hey it happens but as long as it was put out of its misery asap then happy days,, good shooting on the others by the way, can I ask what rifle and what sort of distances you where shooting atb Evo
simon6ppc
ye a top video that pal with some good shooting,i used to shoot up your neck of the woods, there were serious number of rabbits, fair play to you for finding them and shooting them, that kysa bloke give me grieve last year because i made a spelling mistake ha ha,just the way some of these key board kids work, well done any way, cheers simon Edited November 16, 2013 by simon6ppc
ThePestControllers
Cheers Simon yes there are plenty of rabbits here can't wait to get out again now we have another vehicle on the road after smashing the other one up. where do you shoot now. we were using a CZ452 at between 40 and 70 yards. i didn't need to put that rabbit out of its misery it was DEAD when i got to it. it must of been hit in the area of the head that effects the body that way. its a bit like if you electrocute someone in the right part of the head they can knee themselves in the face after all your nerves run from the brain. anyway i am no expert i am only speculating as to the reasons why those things happen. cheers Daz

JDog
My fervent wish is for ThePestControllers to be well enough to go out and shoot another 160 rabbits in one night.
Elby
Great video. The rabbit at 4.13 was shot in the spine, I believe between the shoulder blades as it had it's back to you when shot, maybe the bullet travelling towards the head could give the impression of a head shot Saying that, who gives a monkey's

simon6ppc
simon just watched the video good shooting. did you have a silencer on your rapid. ye pal it was a standard evo that you get with them on a standard 16 inch barrel, i now have a 21 inch barrel with a hw100 silencer that works a treat,i use my rapid quite a bit now on rabbits as the rim fire isn't just as safe where i shoot.atb simon
ThePestControllers
i am going to have to get a new spring for my rapid its no longer smooth because it was trimmed down so it peaks and troughs with power i think the spring is not sliding properly so i need a replacement. i could do with it sorting really as i am in the same position as you i have new permission and its only a back garden 70 yards long. look forward to your next videos cheers Daz
