mudpatten
As far as vests are concerned, I prefer the Rab C. Nesbit style.
hillmouse
Top Gun every time. Very good quality, nice features that all work and nothing that isn't needed. 2" expander zip for when the pies are nice or the weather isn't and you need an extra skin or two on. Pockets in the right places, leather gun facings that are long enough and good quality zippers unlike some. Price is very reasonable for the quality. Had mine for years with no issues. huds78
Ahhh...******!! I'm new on here too and after having my first go at clay shooting yesterday I'm wanting to get myself a Shooting/skeet vest! I know that feeling having recently started out myself, Ebay is probably your friend here, I picked up this vest http://www.derekleegunsmiths.com/store/product/1242/Leon-Grant-Skeet-Vest/ new with tags on there for less than £30 delivered !! Also I only realised this eve after reading on here then checking mine that I have a pocket for a recoil pad !!
Ralphster
I bought a Deerhunter skeet vest from Marsh Country Supplies for £15. It has lasted 2 years without a problem. +1 for this does the job and looks good too
GingerCat
Jeans and t shirt in summer, I have a vest, made by Beretta or at least badged Beretta. Bigger than I need so I can put a fleece on in the winter. As long as it does not catch when you shoulder the gun and its comfy then get what you like. Being able to empty a box or two if carts into the pockets is handy too, sometimes I take it pigeon shooting just for that reason.
HDAV
Another thumbs up for deer hunter got one when I got my 525, lh ones harder to come by..... Has a pocket I put a browning rectar pad in only issue is its a bit too low for the pad so tapped it higher with some double sided tape. Has lasted well in the cold and wet I don't bother with the best just wear my thick coat
Tim85
I have a Browning vest, I think it was about £50 but the Mrs got it for me for Christmas, From the vest's i have seen around the club house/shooting grounds, most of them are the same with minior differences. Mine has a double Zip for the winter (or when i put an extra stone on) so you can put extra layers on and it will still zip up. Mine can take a reactor pad in it but i dont bother as i dont have one when in the field. Some of the guys like the super light weight mesh material backed ones and and some i have seen in full leather Vest's (right said fred...) I think its mainly down to your pocket and what you like personally / fashion in your area.... In the end of the day as long as it has big pockets for Cartridges it will do the job and they dont make any difference to your shooting in the end of the day. I tend to wear my Barbour Keepers jacket in the winter anyway because its warmer, and my vest in the summer so i can wear a t-shirt but still have plenty of cartridge space. delburt0
Does it really matter if you hit the clay what you where. I appreciate there is a dress code at some establishments, but unless you turn up in your y fronts I cannot see what difference having 3 more zips than your mate or a mobile phone holder makes, I understand the southern shooting fraternity been vein, but your supposed to be hitting the clays not the clubs..... I mean whoever would wear this, it would make you look like a gay satan...
