Longbower
Hi , I have an Escort 20g Semi. When I assemble it where oh where should the O ring go. There are 3 or 4 videos on youtube, and all show a different place. ? As ; in the cap that screws on. another ;on the tube after fitting the barrel? Another (american), inside the gas transfer tube? Manual does not refer to a O ring placement at all. Any advice please. Edited October 2, 2013 by Longbower
timmy1146
Bolt and bolt carrier go on first, then the piston then the o ring and then the barrel. The o ring provides a pressure seal against the barrel to stop the gasses blowing in the opposite direction to the piston

The above poster has answered your question but I`ve have the 12g version and them videos threw me as well , I only worked out as the gun didn`t feel right after following one of them then I read the comments on the videos correcting the person who posted the video. They should take their video off really to stop others getting confused.
Longbower
Thanks very much, That will probably, make it work, and not jam all the time.
fallowbuck
Hello as the poster saids the o ring goes above the piston before you replace the barrel shroud over it.Also its worth cleaning the gas port holes in the barrel especially after a number of shots .You can do this with a watchmakers screwdriver of the correct diameter to carefully push any debris from them.A smokers pipe cleaner will also do it.Also, use vegetable cooking oil to lube the o ring not machine/3-1 oil as this will cause the o ring to crack and degrade. DannyNCC
Take a picture before stripping
Longbower
All good tips thanks a lot. I wonder how many have followed the strip and re-build on the internet and got a jamming shotgun? Also, the instructions in the manual, only mention the O ring , but say nothing about it seating in the barrel gas port housing. near the gas port transfer holes. There is one american video, that tells you where it goes, but the others are not right. I will now have to wait for some good weather , to find out how it performs. I will have to do some proper Pattern tests, as I have shot at half a dozen landing pigeons, and not even had a feather fly out.

Will it be a different story if gun is fired ? Cheers Edited October 3, 2013 by Royboy
