scarter
Hi guys I'm looking to paint a load of old decoys and was wondering if anyone knew the best paints to use and any little tips? Thanks Simon
indio
if it helps , here's what I did.... go to Homebase / B&Q type places and look for the "tester" small pots of MATT paints. you can normally get them cheap and if you buy a black and two grey's you can mix them so you get the different shades for the bird. for the white collar I normally use tippex but obviously white paint would do. I use shell decoys so it's important to use matt paint to prevent the "shine" that you get with them. Last time I painted them , I think it cost me about £6 or £7 to do about 16/18 shells. good luck

TIGHTCHOKE
Gret Primer Spray can!
Bobba
Gret Primer Spray can! I used to use primer paint but one lot had an adverse reaction between cellulose based paint and the flocking causing it to bubble and peel. I may well have overloaded it. Now I use Daler Rowney Graduate Acrylic paints.
Fisherman Mike
Yep another vote for acrylic artists paints..they are easily mixed and dry quick and you can then spray or coat with a matt water based varnish
