adam f
Can anyone recommend a decent jacket in max 4 camo? I want it mainly for fowling. Not fussed about it being warm as I can layer up, but I want it tough and waterproof. The only ones I can find are the Pro Logic ones, which seem bulky and nasty? aister
I have had the new deerhunter jacket for a couple of weeks now and no complaints. It is not a thick jacket but like you say you can layer up which is what I do. I was out this morning in the p*****g rain and came home dry. It was to replace a prologic jacket which I liked but the zip gave up on me. http://www.montrosegunsandtackle.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&path=135&product_id=3318
adam f
Great, thanks for that. Looks ideal. Would you rate it better than the Pro Logic?
Big Mat
Look on the cabelas site, they do some very decent jackets.

mudpatten
I`m sure you`ve checked this already, but is Max4 the most appropriate camo for your marsh? I only say this because I can remember when the original Wetlands pattern came out some years ago. Thousands of fowlers rushed out to buy this pattern `cos it said "Wetland". In point of fact this camo was site specific to the vegetation of an American inland freshwater marsh where it doubtless worked very well. Howevr, on a UK coastal marsh, since it contained an awful lot of yellow, it stood out like a demented banana. I`ve always reckoned the Max4 pattern to be too dark and use a deerhunter jacket in a woodland pattern that blends in well with the vegetation colour wise, if not for the species of plant depicted. Just a thought.
Humour_me
I've got a rivers west eider jacket in max 4. Very nice jacket tough and I've never got wet in it at all! Is quite a warm jacket though so not so good for the warmer months or if you have a long old walk. http://www.riverswest.com/eider-jacket.html
adam f
A fair bit of my shooting is inland flights, lots of rushes etc, but it's more that I like the max 4 pattern than any other reason! Il take a look at the others...
aister
I was out again tonight, Gale 8-9 and chucking it down, my upper half was dry with the new jacket but my lower half was soaked through, that was the pro logic salopettes.
