Dazza9t9
Good morning all Quick question, probably a stupid one. I've only been shooting Pigeon for 6 months so not shot at this time of the year. Up in North Yorkshire, it's I've cast, raining and generally miserable. Just wondering if it's worth decoying in this weather. Now I'm no good weather shooter, but was wondering if it's worth going out while it's actually raining. Sorry if this is a stupid question
pigeonblasterian
If there are a few pigeons about and you think you might do any good there is no reason why not.Take an umbrella and try not to get your gear and yourself too wet.Worse thing for me is i hate having to dry and clean everything when it is wet and muddy. Dazza9t9
Well I got out and glad I did. Didn't manage any pigeons but was nice to spend a few hours in the field. Everyday is a learning day
cocknee
I used to go out in all weathers if I thought there was any chance of shooting a pigeon or two but now I am a fat old **** I don't tend to bother as it is never as good when the weather is bad they don't move about as much in poor weather. Dazza9t9
Yeah I found that today. The way I see it is every time I go out I get more experience. I did a couple of hours decoying with no takes at all. I packed up and had a walk into the wood to see if I could identify any roost spots Was just nice to be out,
evo
went out on a reckie this morning on my perm I havn,t shot for a while, 1000,s of pigeons flying about, I could not believe my eyes, also in one field the farmer has spread his muck all over and it was full of crows, so will be up at 6 and out with my buddie to give it a go, pigeons were in small groups of 50+ but where coming over every 2 to 3 mins. only problem I saw this morning was some of the groups were high but hopefully we should be able to attract a few down even if you don't shoot a single bird there is nothing better than being out in the field atb Evo

No shows for pigeons Friday so I went for a walk in the woods, sat quietly and waited. One hour later three dead tree rats. And they can be damn hard to hit when running through the branches. I did more of a reccy in the woods to see the boundary etc There is pheasant, tree rats, rabbits and the odd pigeon in there. When the leaves thin out it may have potential
