walt1980
I've seen someone making and selling a frame that fits on your tow bar which has a gambrel on it to hang a deer so you can gralloching and skin it. Decided I'd like one but now can't find an advert for it! It was about £70 I think, seen them with a winch etc but are about £150 and don't really fancy spending that much on something I'm not going to use that often. Any help greatly appreciated! Cheers peeps!
darren 67
Not sure but think I might have seen this on fieldsports tv. Can't remember who made it but can remember it slots together and apart for easy storage/ transportation. Good luck in finding one.

Seen it a hundred times on mags and now I want one can't find one!

simon1979
a friend of mine, put a fitting onto the access ladder on the back of his landy, very simple, but quick and easy to setup works well
Clydebuilt
If you search David Stretton Donnington Deer Management he makes a tow ball hitch type assembly. Think its more than £70 but you'll get the idea
simon1979
david strettons one is very well made, i did my dsc1 with him, and i have seen some of the things he makes, but as already said, if your good and welding its queit easy to make, and you can make it to suit you and your vechicle. kent
Suspended gralloch aint hard from a tree. I shouldn't skin a beast in the field period, nor might I skin one on my front driveway (too much potential for contamination and unexpected guests)
mick miller
Ditto, find a tree, chuck a rope over a branch and you're good to go. This does of course assume that you have a few trees available to you.
walt1980
That's the problem, there's not many big ones about, plenty if hedge row n smaller trees but nothing that'd even hold a muntjac! Luckily can get truck pretty much everywhere on the fields, other option is take it home n do it, prob 40 mins from shot to home, thought that'd be pushing it tho?? Usually do them there n then. What do you reckon??

What do you reckon?? I recon your ground is a lot different to mine, get a truck stuck as soon as you get off the main tracks mostly here (right up to the axles) and there is nearly always a suitable tree within a couple of hundred yards (it don't need to be that big) as long as the main trunk is sturdy enough I can make do. In deed other than Highland Reds I haven't ever stalked were there were no trees, painting a funny picture in my mind of nice hard ground with short grass and no trees yet deer a plenty. walt1980
There's a small wood beside the land I shoot but it's not owned by the farmer and I wouldn't want to go and upset the neighbours! Most of the land is farmed and just hedge rows between fields, can take a pic if you'd like??? ;-)
al4x
Just do the gralloch without suspending it's not that hard to keep clean
