WGD
My stick, which is at least 30 years old, has split at the base so a new stick is required. Always had a thumb stick with stag antler so probably looking for something similar. Nothing too highly polished - it is just for picking up with, or stalking with a guest rifle. Always see plenty of stalls at the game fairs but with that season behind us where do I look? Also posted in Wanted.

mudpatten
How badly has it split? I`ve been amazed with the results that one can get with modern waterproof, quick setting glues. Is it utterly beyond repair?
Lord Geordie
Just bought a belting stick, Holly shaft with antler top. Got it for £30. Well chuffed with it. I have some hazle shafts I need to get to work on lol. Have a nice rose shaft too.
WGD
How badly has it split? I`ve been amazed with the results that one can get with modern waterproof, quick setting glues. Is it utterly beyond repair? It's not too bad, it split centrally at the base and a piece about 300mm long sheared off which I still have. I will probably repair it, but still require another, because since my Dad used to shove me around on a wee plastic tractor with this stick I don't want to damage it further. I now have one being made for me, which I can accept if I like it or reject it if I don't. Should have some photos later this week. Will keep you posted, thanks for the responses and PM's. johnlewis
Just a thought at work I have just repaired a friends knobs on a wooden engineers tool box, the wood had stripped from the knob threads. I use a match stick to fill space and used a 2 part black aradite when mixed takes 8 hours plus to cure also used it on my son's cricket bat and that held up to 2 seasons cricket matches (he was a right slogger).
