Hi guys, Been hovering aout over the forum latley and though I would join in.

A bit about me, I am 16 have been shooting air rifles for 5 years mainly vermin on local permissions, Have had a BSA R10 mrk2 .177 from new for 3 years, I recently did a clay pigeon taster day at college and bloody loved it, was hooked from the first shot I took.

I currently dont have a shotgun but me and my father have sent off our certificates, and the cabinet is in, also have had 2 lessons at south worcester shooting club, doing so before i let loose on the vermin and some of the local clubs.

Saving up for either a Beretta Silver pigeon 1 or a Browning B525 12 gauge 30in sporter, Think this is what I have narrowed it down to but will put a post or to up and get some opinions. Hope to give out as much of my air rifle knowledge as I can and shotgun when it grows, the forum looks really usefull and am hopeing to find a shooting partner locally so some shooting can be arranged :)

ATB Oli :)

Hi ya and welcome to pw , I'm recently new to this forum myself but I have been shooting a few years now , the browning 525 sporter is an excellent gun as I have one my self , I find they handle and perform very well , you won't go far wrong with this shooter , happy days

Thanks for the warm welcome both, I have held the browning in local gun shop but they only had 28 inch game version of the beretta and couldnt really see down the rib that well, using a beretta silver pigeon for lessons but it is a mix between sporter and game he said then last time instructer told to have a go with a mirko something as it was the same as the beretta 525 sporter, was really nice and felt better to teh browning. Problem is I prefere the look of the beretta and the wood work but the browning fits me better I think and I can see down the rib and it comes to my shoulder very nice but I dont really like the vented barrel as looks a hassle to clean and I dont like the wood as much or hte safety.

I will start a topic i think

Many thanks again Oli

.... got to wait for sgc which is not mean to be the best in hereford I dont think ....

I'm from Hereford too and had to wait 10 weeks for my last renewal 3 years ago (although it did include an FAC grant) .... I think its worse now as WM have merged with another licensing dept (Warwickshire I think) - Hope yours comes soon and welcome to PW.

Oli - everyone slags off the Hatsans - my mate Adam has one and I'd gladly swap my SA for his - it NEVER jams and it shoots fantastically, I've thought about getting one, only criticism I can give is the choke keeps coming loose

And as I said the other night - would you be happy taking a posh gun rough shooting?
