KFC
Apologies if this has been posted before but, by the end of this, I was both laughing my head off and empathising with this chap. Today I'm about to take possession of my first Discovery. I've been a Daihatsu Fourtrak man up to now so I thought I'd look up the quirks of owning a Discovery. It's a 300TDi btw. 88ajp
Excellent video my friend but the collier should cover the splines, to me it looks like the collar has moved towards the drivers side affecting the diff lock. If you move the lever towards diff lock then move the collar towards the housing and tighten it that may work for you. The pivot pins sit between plastis bushes so usually seize up with dirt and crud so a liberal spray of lube through you access panel should do the job nicely. Hope ya get it sorted.. Ash Thanks for info Ash. It's not my problem, just a video that I came across while searching info on Discovery's. At least, I hope it doesn't become my problem. 88b
Broken windows kicked in doors ? Just remind this soft southern **** where this idiot is from. I've never liked Land Rovers but that vehicle doesn't deserve this pagan ( no offence to pagans ).
kent
Why fools shouldn't try and fix stuff especially while in a bad mood. Yeah, cut a hole - get a free load of welding it back up afterwards! Cant see why someone might really need to engage diff lock in snow anyhow
glb8686
Great video. Helped me fix the diff lock on my old disco
Paul223
You don't get this problem if when servicing the linkages are lubed, if you only half service it you'd expect trouble It's what squirts oil cans were made for

four-wheel-drive
Good video I feel for the guy not everyone is a skilled mechanic or can afford to pay garage prices to get things repaired also there is not much point in saying that it should be serviced and looked after then they would not go wrong if you have to buy your truck second hand after five or six other people have been running it in to the ground before you can afford to buy it.
