reggiegun
Is H380 powder as hard to get hold of as Varget. Need to reload some ammo for my son in 22-250, only have N133, H4895 and reloader 10x which I use for my 223. What easy obtainable power is good for 22-250, 14 twist with 50 or 55 grain bullet. Its for his remmy model 7, it has a light and short (20") barrel. Reggiegun
saddler
What are the top choices listed on your reloading manuals?
reggiegun
What are the top choices listed on your reloading manuals? Vihtavuori n140 is available but only in 1kg tubs, dont want to get 1kg and it no good, just thought I would ask, do you have a problem with that? Thought this is how this forum works. iain
140 is good in many different cartridges. So it's not a waste. I've used it in .223, .243, .308 & 7mm-08.
rem708
Totally agree Vit N140 is a very versatile powder and according to VIHTAVUORI loading data is about middle of the road for most loads in 22-
Doggone
I've used H4895 for years for my 22/250. 36.5gns and 50gn Vmax. 9mm groups after 4000 rounds in present gun. Andy
Dougy
I dont suppose there will be any thing to stop you trying using any of the 3 powders you have to hand, there are loads for all 3 powders available suitable for 22.250 My loads are for a 55grn Nosler 37.5 H380 Fed match primers and OAL from Ogive is 2.093, as far as i am aware its not too difficult to obtain, not compared to varget. I also have a load for another but thats using varget, just for PITA fox's using NV. cant remember off the top of my head what that load is but i'm using 53grn vmax. So not used as often as the other rifle.
