HDAV
612 or 712? Both good 612 is gas and 712 recoil iirc.
mr smith
Don't know about the 612 but the 712 is gas operation.
bullet23
Don't no what model it was but are they good n what's the price like on it £450? Would it make a goof crow/pigeon gun occasional goose??
HDAV
£450 is pretty good for a 712, not bad for a 612. I know there is a difference can't think off the top of my head. Both are gas older franchi were recoil operated as are the newer Fast/I-12 models Franchi are owned by beretta and quality is good Edited November 30, 2013 by HDAV
mr smith
I use my 712 for everything Target,PSG and pest and it serves me well.

bullet23
That franchi is a 712 so you reckon it could b a good semi to get yes, quite good quality and everything. Would I be better of with one of those or a new armsan 612 for same price?
HDAV
I would try shooting the Franchi and see how it feels but I would take a used gun from the beretta stable over a new turkish gun everyday....

bullet23
Went to see that franchi 712 again yesterday seems to b quite old lookin through the camo, don't know what the old ones r like but says he would take £400 cash
blasterjudd
Went to see that franchi 712 again yesterday seems to b quite old lookin through the camo, don't know what the old ones r like but says he would take £400 cash Be careful if its the older version and recoil operated they can be a bit temperimental. If older version its far too expensive!!!! Sounds like someones put cammo on it to disguise its age? Dont pay any higher than £300 if its in good condition as you may regret it? HDAV
Old lookin? as in well used? or as in old fashioned? Italian proof marks have a code if you want to know the year it was proofed. All 712 are gas operated if it is a 712 it can't be that old...... retromlc
the later ones are the ones to get,I have seen an older one and the finish isn't as good.£500-£450 seems the usual price for a late tidy 712 raptor, best wait and save a bit more
