88b
I'd be for making a lateral cut a couple of inches below the chin!! Who could blame you, this is only going to happen more and more. Eventually decent honest people will start taking the law into their own hands .
Sprackles
This sort of crime didn't happen when we were youngsters, still it is probably a small price for us to pay for the general cultural enrichment we get from having foreigners coming to stay. Fair brightened my day up did that..... Right...better get the cloth and wipe the computer screen down where I spit coffee on it from choking and laughing. old rooster
I think you risk comparing historically significant individuals and relatively small organisations with an epidemic of ruthless crime aimed at the vulnerable in society but not to worry, in this case my Aunt has survived this time, what right has she to expect to live out the rest of her life safely in the country she was born in?? I was equally enraged by the trio of junkie scumbags who broke into my old Mums house in broad daylight, knowing she was at home but not caring how it might scare her half to death. They came back a few weeks later and broke in again, good old home grown scum in that case but I really don't recall that sort of thing when we were younger, they would have feared a darn good battering if caught by neighbours! Just the world we live in today I guess, not helped by the influx of foreign criminals whatever the apologists might like to say!
JohnFreeman1310
How can u seriously all find nothing better to do than abuse Europeans who want better lives for them selfs and there children yes there are SOME who come here to abuse benefits but don't we already have thieving junkies that do this ? I work with a polish guy and he works like a horse first to start last to finish many of them come here and appreciate the wages and social benefits over here. old rooster
What is a tad disturbing is the gradual movement of the imported thieving scum from big cities out into provincial towns and villages, not sure of the levels that might be experienced in Perthshire but if low at the moment it is only a matter of time before they spread to there. Buckingham is a small market town, Towcester, nearer to where we live, was subject to a snatch and grab from the local coffee shop recently. We now have signs in the high streets of small English towns warning that "thieves operate in this area" what an indictment of our current society! chacotawas
Ten minutes ago I took in a parcel brought to our fairly out-of-the-way little outpost by a Polish bloke who's done this a fair few times of late- he drives for a courier company. I gave him a tenner towards Xmas. This guy is a complete gentleman who has gone out of his way for us here in the past. I remember friends-including my father, who managed a 1500-man steel-making factory (they made the blanks for most of the Tommy helmets in WW2, and treads for the tanks) saying that of all their hard-working people nobody worked better than the couple of dozen Poles they employed. They were exceptional. I remember too, reading about the enormous contribution made by the Polish Spitfire and Hurricane fighter pilots in The Battle of Britain. I recommend this as a good read, especially about Squadron 303. They fought brilliantly and died heroically alongside us when we needed them. BUT, having said that, I'm inclined to agree with those who'd be hard on those scum who threaten and rob old ladies. I can't help feeling, however, that the blame for Britain being a soft touch (which it clearly is) lies with the lefty-liberal, Guardian-reading, PC brigade- The Progressives i.e.those who see themselves as occupying the moral high ground, as possessing a superior insight into how civilised society ought to function, who know what we should all be thinking, how we should all be behaving; in short, the smug, self-appointed custodians of the nation's morality (those who'd see such as Briggs as representing a failure on the part of society). I think the position of a great many of we who post here is not represented by any of the currently-existing political parties. We badly need a new one that does. Maybe then we'd be able to prevent the onset of vigilanti-ism which I agree is a distinct possibility. Sorry about the rant.
Penelope
No rant, and many a true word. The recent documentary on 303 was very good. old rooster
During the war people were brought together to fight the common foe of nazi Germany, the Polish exploits were indeed phenomenal as were those of the many British fighting in all branches of the armed services. There sacrifices to ensure the safety of future generations were immense. If history is referred to it will be seen that our country came to the aid of the poles then when they were invaded by the Germans so all allied forces had a similar outlook and steely determination to deal with the old house painter. What we have now is a different sort of society with no (accepted) threat to our safety. The real threat now is from crimes of the type being discussed here and perpetrated by those who come from other countries to intentionally do that and with no intention of working. Admittedly we have our home grown ne'er do wells to add to the problem which is exacerbated by the do gooder apologists and lefty types. And we need to vigorously oppose any suggestion that we British should be ashamed of our past. The bit in this post that interests me most is the word "accepted" in brackets. I deleted the long rant in my post on THAT particular subject- a much more serious threat, I would suggest, than any represented by a bunch of east European towrags who will probably be absorbed, along with their decent countrymen, into our equivalent native groups within a generation. At the risk of sounding repetitive; while we still have millions of indigenous unemployed people fit to work we don't need anybody else to come in to do menial jobs and those that can readily be retrained for. To say they these people are adding by paying taxes into the system and spending money is a tad misleading, you may well be able to get a good value for money car wash on street corners in most towns now but I'd be very surprised if much of the cash taken is declared. It is the fact that it is a cash based venture that makes it so attractive! Not much value to our society from the proceeds of crime either. I have absolutely no doubt that some come to work and integrate but there is no way of knowing which they are with the EU open door policy we have been forced to accept. The ideal scenario would be the governments of other European countries developing their own economies so that the populations in them can live to a reasonable standard, what we will eventually achieve is the bringing down of standards in traditionally well of countries to a common level across the EU. It is still very difficult to get into non EU countries without proving that you bring something of tangible value to that country, offering "cultural diversity" doesn't cut much mustard in those applications!! old rooster
Sorry to hear of this.I hope your Aunt is ok?Cheers for that BB, she is thankfully ok but probably more by luck than judgement. Others oldies who were perhaps less "rugged" might have their whole life changed by realising their vulnerability, which is why I posted the warning for others.
