ollie
Yeh i agree with johnnie lucky you to have all the ducks, but we have a lot of woodcock and snipe down round our area.
Jonnyni
What sort of numbers would you get for a day out for the woodcock/snipe Do ya have to pay for the shooting or is it on ground you have?
deadeyedick
well if i wanted to shoot duck I would do a morning flight on the a big lake near us and prob. get arount 10. I would then shoot an evening flight at number of different places and could get up to 15. That would be with 1 other gun. Snipe - as many as you want. We have a ridiculous amount at home. Woodcock - this years been **** for them, however in the past we have had around 30 in a day (average) We also have a lot of foxes at home too (we have a dump near us)
Jonnyni
Now thats me as jealous as **** yer a lucky man. Great mornin flights even better evening flights Woodcock - this years been **** for them, however in the past we have had around 30 in a day (average) Thats sounds unreal I hav'nt even shot a woodcock yet but then havn't had many opportunities. Is all that shooting free to you. With all that shootin you don't need any pigeons.
deadeyedick
yes all the shootings free, and most of its on my land luckily. I need some help as to how you best go about a morning flight. I've only done it a few times. I usually just do flights in the evening. To be honest with you I've only ever shot about 30 pigeons. I'm busy with the ducks woodcock and snipe usually. At the moment I am trying to nail some foxes. (for the woodcock) Its funny because I know there are loads around yet I still think the best way to get them is on a shoot! I can't really lamp them as there isn't many open spaces, just really woody.
Jonnyni
Lucky you, Ive really only started with the ducks myself this year it's been pigeons mainly for me. You should get some good advise about the fox problem on here, sorry I can't help with fox control in wooded areas. I will help ya with the woodcock Oh and the ducks

deadeyedick
Jonny, Us fermanagh lads are very selfish. As a result we have some of the best shootin around! You just stick to youre pigeon shooting, and you'll be just fine Oh, and you can keep youre vids. I already have plenty! Very kind to offer though. :yp:
