Dunkield
I fly EasyJet quite a bit, but I have only flown RyanAir once (because I had to) and I would never do it again. The low start price is just the bait to get you on the hook, from then on their sole purpose is to find ways of getting more money out of you. As the old joke goes: "Spare a thought for Michael O’Leary, Chief Executive of 'Ryanair'.......Arriving in a hotel in Dublin, he went to the bar and asked for a pint ofdraught Guinness. The barman nodded and said, "That will be one Europlease, Mr. O’Leary."Somewhat taken aback, O'Leary replied, "That's very cheap," and handed overhis money."Well, we try to stay ahead of the competition", said thebarman. "And we are serving free pints every Wednesday eveningfrom 6 until 8. We have the cheapest beer in Ireland""That is remarkable value" Michael comments"I see you don't seem to have a glass, so you'll probably need one of ours. That will be 3 euro please."O'Leary scowled, but paid up. He took his drink and walked towards a seat."Ah, you want to sit down?" said the barman. "That'll be an extra 2 euro. -You could have pre-book the seat, and it would have only cost you a Euro.""I think you may to be too big for the seat sir, can I ask you to sit in thisframe please"Michael attempts to sit down but the frame is too small and when he can't squeeze inhe complains "Nobody would fit in that little frame"."I'm afraid if you can't fit in the frame you'll have to pay an extra surcharge of €4.00for your seat sir"O'Leary swore to himself, but paid up. "I see that you have brought yourlaptop with you" added the barman. "And since that wasn't pre-bookedeither, that will be another 3 euro."O'Leary was so annoyed that he walked back to the bar, slammed his drink onthe counter, and yelled, "This is ridiculous, I want to speak to themanager"."Ah, I see you want to use the counter," says the barman, "that willbe 2 euro please." O'Leary's face was red with rage."Do you know who I am?""Of course I do Mr. O'Leary,""I've had enough, What sort of Hotel is this? I come in for a quiet drinkand you treat me like this. I insist on speaking to a manager!""Here is his E mail address, or if you wish, you can contact him between 9 and 9.10every morning, Monday to Tuesday at this free phone number. Calls are free, until they are answered, then there is a talking charge of only 10 cent per second""I will never use this bar again""OK sir, but remember, we are the only hotel in Ireland selling pints for one Euro"

88b
We fly to Verona in Italy quite a bit strangely BA is cheaper than Easy Jet ( Gatwick to Verona ) plus you get a drink and a sandwich and the flight times suit us better. Bergamot would be closer but only Ryan air fly there so I've never used it. Our nephew loves in Dublin and for years used Ryanair to fly to Stanstead, this year they started using air Aron to fly into Southend , it's more expensive but worth every penny. Dunkield
Same as that, although I still use EasyJet for fishing trips, I have booked all my recent family holiday flights through BA and out of Heathrow too. Booked well in advance they undercut the budget airlines. I am not knocking budget travel, I am sure without them the likes of BA would never have forced into this position, so for that alone I thank them. shaun4860
Slightly off topic Ive flown twice with guns, once Easyjet and once BA, Easyjet were the easiest, prebooked, whisked through all the checks with no queuing, BA informed me when I mentioned guns that it would be up to the pilot on the day whether we could take them or not,
Billy.
I think the price of your ticket should reflect your weight. Why should I have to sacrifice my luggage allowance or be forced to just take hand luggage, when the bloke next to me is eight stone heavier than me?! secretagentmole
We wanted to go to Southern Ireland to see what it was like, flew via Ryan Air from Stanstead a few years ago. It was cheaper to fly to Dublin (including the various airport taxes) than it was to take the train to London. Booked, paid, printed off boarding passes, no dramas or hassle, had a nice day out in Dublin, no problem at all! OK so they are the National Express version of flying, we had a day out, I got to the Guiness brewery, enjoyed my day out, the women went shopping, did not enjoy their day out so much, apparently Dublin in the morning stinks of vomit and urine! If you want to see what southern Ireland is really like..then my advice is when you fly into Dublin get back out off it in any direction as fast as you can. Im not much into Cities anyhow' but have been in a few around Europe'including London and also Canada and Dublin has to be the worst city i have ever been in.For a start there is not really much to do other than drink or go shopping and temple bar ect is sett up for tourists and is not the real Irish Culture that you will find elsewhere out of the capital.
