ollie
I am having the Mother in law over for Christmas dinner this year and I am looking for some simple festive starter options. My wife & mother in law don't like game so that is out. However, can someone please suggest something simple that will keep them happy until the Turkey arrives. FalconFN
What's wrong with prawn cocktail and a pint of Bailey's?
ollie
We made prawn cocktail last year, but would like something different. The Baileys is a good idea though, I love Baileys.

turbo33
Depends on how well you get on with the mil One of my clients found the MIL so difficult at each and every xmas, that she made some very nice cakes as a starter, that ALLEGEDLY contained some herbal ingredients. Apparently, MIL was an absolute joy to be around for the whole day Tempting Smoked Salmon, twist of lemon, couple of lettuce leaves

Lampwick
I'm going for lobster and scallop not sure how yet? I'm thinking of possibly adding langoustine and havering a crusty threesome! I did see a nice Champagne sauce. So my current idea is lobster, langoustine and scallop each in their own sauce with Melba toast! I'm hungry!!!!!!
