Pedro
I'm looking at getting one of the above for about £2500. Having looked for a while now, Vauxhalls seem to be coming out the best for lower mileage examples. Does anyone on here have any experience of the Combi van or something similar, in fact, any recommendations? P.

glb8686
Agreed, Berlingo. 1.6 HDI only, DO NOT get the earlier Non turbo. Absolutely shocking engine! Edited December 27, 2013 by glb8686

barney 66
Agreed, Berlingo. 1.6 HDI only, DO NOT get the earlier Non turbo. Absolutely shocking engine! Depends what you want from it, granted not the fastest, not bad on fuel and cheap to repair and will go forever looked after

Pedro
Mnnn, there's a 2l Berlingo up for sale not far from me. It's an HDI one too. Is the 2l as good as the 1.6? Thanks for the replies as well chaps P.
HDAV
Is it a tax dodge or do you need a small van? Corsa vans are great to drive cheap to buy and insure and good on fuel 500 miles to a tank.... 1.3 cdti engines but more space in the rear of an estate car...... hoggysreels
1.6hdi engine changed over the years . Not certain if the year, poss 2008/09 ? .. originally 16 valve, the option of an 8 or 16 valve ... they need to run on low ash engine oil .. no big problem, its only a couple of quid more .. berlngo and partner same offering really ... wraivi
Go for the vauxhall astra van. Proper car derived van and you dont get stung on commercial parts and spares, as they're mostly the same as astra cars....an excellent benefit, worth pointing out as some van specific parts are really expensive for no other reason. I am on my 2nd astravan now, 1.7cdti at 600 miles to a tank. Coming up to 160 000 miles and still perfect for my business use. Been looking at a 1.3 cdti astra H. Van for upgrade in the spring. They dont accelerate that wdll, but 6 speed box at 75-80mph was outstanding on fuel and low tax. Good luck.
HDAV
Avoid the 1.3 unless the high output the 75bhp in a corsa is painful when laden....
