antdg
Hi all I have been shooting for many years (air rifle / fac etc) but have just got around to get my shotgun cert. I do all of my shooting on farms and mostly on my own. I bought a Hatsan escort for use on the farm as I didnt want to spend ££££. I have been out crow shooting over xmas and Im hitting about 1 in 5 shots, I dont take long range shots so everything is well within 30 yards. Im not really into becoming a member of a club, but Im looking for some coaching to be able to shoot Pigeon / crows etc. Pls could anybody recommend somebody in the area that will be able to teach me. Im cross eye dominant (I think) however I want to shoot right handed, but left eye dominant if that matters when being coached. Thanks for your time Antdg
Gordon R
Are you looking for coaching for rough shooting or clay pigeon shooting? If it is clays - Beretta on this Forum is as good as they come.

Alfred
Best advice I was given was that as a newbie you'll always be shooting behind it, whether thats clays or birds. Follow the bird, then nip in front and pull the trigger, if you miss then 99 times out of 100 you'll be behind it. My lad is left eye dominant but shoots off his right shoulder, he wasn't doing very well until I suggested he close his left eye, once he did that he hit everything. Same situation with my wife. I shoot with both eyes open, but I'm right eye dominant.

figgy
As others have said get onto Beretta for coaching. It won't matter that in future you want to shoot pigeons and crows he will still be able to coach you as there just clays with feathers. I've only met the man on a couple of occasions and once with 100 miles away on here when shooting clays in the north region selection shoots at Manchester. But the man has worked wonders on the scores of the people he has coached and coaches, the results speak for themselves.
