Crouch valley
Mememe good luck to you with you purchase very envious. Unfortunately you will never reach those kind of figures. Can I ask as to why you have mentioned it has water running through it. I hope you don't think this will attract deer. As deer are rarely seen to drink as they get most of what they need from there feed. I would advise doing your DSC you will learn a lot from it also if you purchase this land put some trail cams up they will tell you a lot of what's about. stubby
Just a question do you actually own a FAC with a deer legal caliber rifle on it ? Deershooter just wait until your FEO comes to assess the land for a deer cleared FAC rifle... again, woodland owners doing woodland management dont need this
Blunderbust
10 acres is 220 yards by 220 yards by the time you made your way in everything in there would know you were there how can you possibly use a centerfire rifle on this land you would be hard pushed to get a rim fire with Lincolnshire on this one Just because it's your land don't always mean that you can shoot on it with a centerfire rifle ,even with a high seat I don't think this would be safe Stick to the air rifle and eat the pigeons Deershooter I am sorry to go off the OP,s original post, but how can you say that you think "even with a high seat I dont think this would be safe" having not seen this piece of land. As I have stated I have a 10 acre wood that I stalk on and I have never used a high seat and up to now have had 24 Deer from it. I know the way the OP put his post over does show a lack of experience but without having access to the land in question no one can state it is unsafe to shoot it. This is true, it might be 10 acres of great backstop. The whole land size and safety thing needs reining in. I see much talk of it at present in posts, no land is big enough to be safe for use of a deer rifle in the whole of England by size alone
CharlieT
again, woodland owners doing woodland management dont need this Yes, we all know this. I occasionally use a shotgun for deer and also have slugs conditioned for such use. However, I would suggest that shooting 1 deer a week for the pot as the poster hopes is not a job for a shotgun, particularly bearing in mind his apparent lack of knowledge and experience. It must also be borne in mind that, in this particular case, such action can only be taken to prevent damage to the growing timber and if challenged he would need to be able to demonstrate that actual damage had been done. I do not believe that advising an inexperienced person who has a few trees growing in their back garden to shoot them with a shotgun is the way forward and is not something I would advocate. Elby
You clearly know little about muntjack too if you think 4 butchered would equate to a pallet load. you stick to your findus crispy pancakes mate. What's a muntjack? In answer to your original question. No you won't shoot a Muntjac a week from 10 acres
