Mossberg Hushpower .410

Recommended Posts

Gents,

I recently purchased the above gun for vermin control ,while I do not confess to being the best shot in the world ,as of yet I have not hit anything with this gun sitting rabbits at 15 m just run off unscathed.

Maybe the diameter of the silencer has something to do with it,has anybody else had similar problems with this gun and if so how I'd you rectify ?

Thanks

Luckyshot

Put up a piece of plain wallpaper or card at 20 yards, with a large dot marked on it, then do a quickmount and fire at the dot. It's entirely possible you are firing 1 or 2 feet out.

Do also bear in mind that if you are using subsonic cartridges then the power drop can be quite considerable, and with it the killing range. Hushpowers are still relatively quiet with 'normal' cartridges though

I always found, that if you can see what your aiming at, YOU'LL MISS IT

see your rabbit

shoulder gun

raise until the silencer hides mr wabbit

depending on distance, depends how much you need to raise, which is why the above advice about trying out the card first is spot on, this should be done with any gun/rifle before moving onto live quarry

As said above, the size of the hush power barrel means if you're using the bead on top you'll be aiming too high.

Actually means you'll be aiming too low. I normally aim mine at what I'm shooting then raise the barrel so I can't see the target any more, then bang! (As stubby already said).
