pigeonblasterian
Had a walk round a farm this afternoon looking for pigeons. Not much about as usual but there did seem to be just a few more than usual. Decided to have half an hour in the wood roost shooting but there was a bit of work going on nearby which kept the pigeons away. Only ended up with a squirrel and pigeon and have decided to try the squirrel for tomorrows tea. Never eaten it before so if i like it it might be on the menu regularly. hedd-wyn
Well done, let us know how the squirrel tastes. I've never tried it myself but quite popular in the US apparently

JDog
Skin and gut and take off the legs and saddle and brown in a hot frying pan before adding to vegetables in a casserole dish and add water (not much). Cook on a high heat (220) for three quarters of an hour. Add seasoning to taste and test after one hour to see if all is cooked.
aga man
not to bad eat from what i remember but not worth the effort of skinning imo as it's a fiddly job. if it was me i would feed the squizzer to the ferrets and eat the woody

Mentalmac
They can be a pain to skin, I use a very sharp knife and just allow it to help separate. Water helps. Can skin a squirrel in 10 mins now. I cut off paws before skinning now as this helps and also don't gut until after skinning as otherwise its difficult. I bake in foil in oven for 1 hour on gas mark 4 :-)
Googleplex
Squizzer is quite nice when cooked well, tastes a bit like pork.Have been told to skin them as soon as poss after shooting while still warm the coat comes of easier apparently. Paul T
They are beggars to skin and quite greasy too. Done it once, but I would be very hungry to try it again.
