30-6
Very interesting topic, and I think a big "Thank You" for your effort is in order to all who contributed, especially PIN and PELTMAN. Well done
pin
Been out tonight with a few lasers to see how these work with the NV. Nothing short of amazing is the answer You can see the beam out to 400+ yards. I thought I would use IR laser to to keep completely covert, but I was getting within 12fpe .22 range easily, headmounted NV with a normal red laser would work so well as to be almost unfair. If I had been kitted up like that I could have shot 20 bunnies in 30 mins, no problem at all. Not very windy and not very dark either. il cacciatore
Nice work! I've kind of lost track though, what set up is the one that works? Is it a purchased Deben IR Filter? (like this one) ? How can you mount the Bresser to your napper anyhow? I was thinking more along the lines of making a mount to attach it ontop of an airgun using the tripod mount - perhaps by using an old scope mount and welding onto it a bolt screwcut to the bresser mount. Good job
pin
All of them work, once you line up the NV with the beam of IR light. Working on the head mount, but what you suggest would also work
Millomite
Pin, where did you get your IR film for your lens from and how much? Do you think it would work with a camcorder which is sensitive down to 2.0 lux or am I barking up the wrong tree?
il cacciatore
Right, sorry I found the post. This is going to be superb. I'll order the IR stuff later in the week.
pin
Millomite:- http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/ind...27232&st=0# That's the 3mm thick IR sheet for £20 I got the filter gels from www.formatt.co.uk - you want "congo blue" and "primary red". I think I paid £11 including delivery for 1.2m x 50cm sheets. Good luck, let me know how you get on
Millomite
Do you think it would work with my camcorder which has a night mode on it?
pin
I've tried it with mine (relatively cheap panasonic) and it can see IR, but not all that well. Depends on your camera I would guess.

pin
Most have a 5/8ths UNF tripod adapter, with those and a ring mount you could fashion something with a bit of thought.

pin
Which NV have you got? If its just a monocular (ie not a weapon sight) then there probably won't be a commercial solution to mount it on a gun, you will have to make something.
