timmyra608
Hi all, am fairly new to pigeon shooting and on my permission the rape has failed and the farmer is going to drill some turnips and sugarbeet in a couple of months and I wasn't sure if pigeons will feed on the drilling? Any help or advice would be much appreciated. Many thanks Tim
garden gun
If they are around they will feed on the drillling and certainly late season after harvest they will have a go at the discarded tops.
JDog
I have never known pigeons feed on turnip or sugar beet drillings but they do go for the tops once the main crop has been harvested.

Harnser
They love fodder turnips .which are around at this time of the year . Never seen pigeons feed on drilled sugar beet ,but they do love the chipped beet after harvest . Harnser
Alanl50
Pigeons will feed on young sugar beet tops growing, I've had some good numbers in recent years but as always it depends on what else is around. Alan
