kent
Yes it is, as more hold over/under is required for .22 at the same given range. And i never atepmpted a heart/lung shot with either .22 or .177 .... head shot is the way to go Sorry but its still only a 4-6 yard trajectory advantage to the .177 against a bigger hole with a heavier projectile. .177 is only superior if you shoot beyond ranges that can guarantee one shot bang flops like in FT were its 50-55 yds that decides the winners - yet remember that's a whacking big 40mm kill zone and steel targets don't squeal and run off. Often the head is not the most humane target, indeed a badly placed head shot (ie not in the brain cavity) can and will wound with 700 ft lb of energy never mind

Theskyfox
Guys, I'd like to congratulate everyone on making this the most derailed thread in history. Not only is it a Daystate fandom, and a fine presentation of hunting skill, but somehow its turned into a .22 vs .177 debate too? LOL. -Andrew

NIGHT SEARCHER
There has been a few .177 TDRs on Gunstar in the last seven Days.
Theskyfox
+1 Have seen them on there. Will use the price of them to haggle on my new one. Want to make sure I get the S410F as well (with the full length carbine cylinder) a lot of the others are .22, or are the older version that people are trying to get shot of. -Andrew
Theskyfox
Well I've done it. I've bought the Air arms TDR . Will be picking it up later next week, and I've asked for it to be chronoed with Bisley Mags + AA Fields before I get it. I'll be interested to see what the FPS difference is between each shot. At some point I'll probably send it to BTAS for a regulator fitting, but before I do I want to see what the power curve is like. If the overall shot count is good and the variation isn't big then I might not even bother. Cheers all for the advice. I managed to get a good deal on it as I was having work done on my HW95 at the same time, and its got lifetime free servicing and refilling now. -Andrew
Zetter
I would say with the new models mate you should be fine without the reg. We got a new AA400 carbine for club use and were getting 60+ useable shots off it no problems. AA really have got the valving down to pat on these now.
