410 hushpower noise.

Wonder if anyone could share any experiences of using a 410 hushpower around a golf course.

I have a permission on a private golf course,and there have been many occasions when having one of these would of been very handy. It is passed for rimfire but I just use a pcp at the moment.

The main targets are squirrels and corvids. I ferret the rabbits. So would the noise be off putting for golfers?

Cheers,John.

i have tried 6/7 different types of cartridges and hull 11g 6s are by far the quietest i found the sub sonic 3" a lot louder standard 3" being the loudest 2" 9g 6s were also quite loud but was told it's to do with the powder used in the smaller cartridges,

layvale 14g 7s and eley fourlong were also quiet

Keep your range to 30 yards and if you do your part they should be clean kills, any more and the pattern is failing very fast! 3inch subs are certainly not the quietest but iv had good results with them. The eley fourlong are fairly quiet, id still say louder than an air rifle though

Perhaps I need to find somebody who has one and stand 20yds away and have a listen.

Make sure you are not in front lol.

:lol::lol::lol:

Pity you are the wrong side of the hills, otherwise you would be welcome to try my 20g

the .410 I have kills very clean at 25 yards but gets iffy 5 yards further out as pattern just gives up and you start relying on lucky strikes. The real good bit is you can sock it to bugs at 15 yards and the carcass is still well worth picking up! The Old owner of Bondies in Preston described them to me when they came out as " bout as loud as the **** that cannot be pinned down to who let it go" I think that sums them up

I like it!

As long as golfers and dog walkers go"I wonder what that was"as opposed to "Cripes there's a madman in the bushes"

That'll do.
