felly100
Wonder if anyone could share any experiences of using a 410 hushpower around a golf course. I have a permission on a private golf course, and there have been many occasions when having one of these would of been very handy. It is passed for rimfire but I just use a pcp at the moment. The main targets are squirrels and corvids. I ferret the rabbits. So would the noise be off putting for golfers? Cheers,John.
timmyra608
I have one and I think it just sounds like a loud air rifle (old spring type) I use 3" subsonic
felly100
What sort of range do you think for a clean kill on a magpie? I have one and I think it just sounds like a loud air rifle (old spring type) I use 3" subsonic
colin lad
i have tried 6/7 different types of cartridges and hull 11g 6s are by far the quietest i found the sub sonic 3" a lot louder standard 3" being the loudest 2" 9g 6s were also quite loud but was told it's to do with the powder used in the smaller cartridges, layvale 14g 7s and eley fourlong were also quiet colin
stubby
when firing a hushpower, they sound louder to the person firing, but stand 15ft away, and the noise is like a air rifle,
plank06
Keep your range to 30 yards and if you do your part they should be clean kills, any more and the pattern is failing very fast! 3inch subs are certainly not the quietest but iv had good results with them. The eley fourlong are fairly quiet, id still say louder than an air rifle though

Fisheruk
You may be better looking for a 20g Hushpower. The .410 is very limited on range and pattern. The 20g makes no more noise if you use subsonic and has much better range and pattern. IMHO.
felly100
Perhaps I need to find somebody who has one and stand 20yds away and have a listen.

kent
the .410 I have kills very clean at 25 yards but gets iffy 5 yards further out as pattern just gives up and you start relying on lucky strikes. The real good bit is you can sock it to bugs at 15 yards and the carcass is still well worth picking up! The Old owner of Bondies in Preston described them to me when they came out as " bout as loud as the **** that cannot be pinned down to who let it go" I think that sums them up
