Hi all,

I may have just sold my air rifle to someone and need to post it to them but Parcelforce won't transport pre-charged air guns so who can I use?

Cheers,

JSC.

They should as long as tank is empty ...... Royal mail will but wont be cheap. You could use an RFD to ship it as they can use TNT.

This reads to me that it MAY be permitted as long as it's not flown?

I sold a PCP end of last year and posted it parcelforce 48 to an RFD from the Post Office. As long as its not on a FAC you should have no problems. Its easiest to post it as "sporting goods" (as thats technically what it is).

I know that Blackpool Air Rifles use APC overnight.

Highlighted the critical bits........ Royal mail will carry them but the tricky bit is the size restrictions........

In December I sent my R10 off to XTX-Air for a tune and it went Royal Mail special delivery. The hard bit is the length, as it has to be bellow 61 cm. However, depending on the gun you can get round it by taking the action out of the stock, then packing them next to each other (being careful not to damage either), as well as removing things like silencers or shrouds.

That doesn't work for everything though. Also be aware that the max insurance is £500 i think. But, the gun will have to be shot dry of air, as no one will take pressurised cylinders off you.
